ABOUT

I grew up in a small western Oklahoma town with parents who worked as elementary educators and family farmers. Chopping cotton taught me to work hard, and observing my parents encouraged me to remain curious. Both traits serve me well as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am determined to help you uncover what you are looking for.

I'm a proud Oklahoma State alum, but I won't hold it against you if you happen to disagree. The Marriage and Family Therapy master's program at OSU is the only accredited program in the state, and the experience I gained there has proved invaluable. My work history includes medical family therapy in an oncology setting, community mental health, working with the severely mentally ill, and adoptive home studies.

I have been teaching as an adjunct at the University of Central Oklahoma since 2012, and my time with students is so satisfying! Their curiosity and drive is an ongoing challenge that means I must keep myself grounded in the tried and true groundwork of therapy and stay current with research and new ideas in the field.

I am a Christian, and I love working with other believers who want to include that piece of life in our time together. I have attended Biblical counseling training through Scope Ministries, and the significance of examining the present in the context of eternal Spiritual Truths cannot be overstated.

The last few years I have immersed myself in the Enneagram; some call it a personality typing system, but I prefer the description of the different ways we see the world. I am amazed by the doors of understanding it has swung open for individuals - both for themselves and those with whom they interact. If you are already familiar with the Enneagram or are curious about how it may benefit your life, I'd love to talk it over with you.

Enough about me! Make an appointment to tell me about what's going on with you.
